DAVE PEABODY & BRENDAN POWER

DAVE PEABODY
British Blues stalwart Dave Peabody has been a professional blues musician for
over thirty years, performing as a singer, harmonica player, and guitarist in a
variety of acoustic and electric blues styles. He has travelled all over the
British Isles, Europe, Scandinavia, and the US, playing both clubs and
festivals. He has played and recorded with many American blues artistes,
including Honey Boy Edwards, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Boy Henry, and Big Joe
Duskin. He has been featured on over thirty albums, including nine under his own
name, and was voted UK acoustic Blues Artist of the year by the British
Blues Connection in 1995. Currently Dave alternates solo and duo gigs with
singing and playing electric rhythm guitar with the Rn'B orientated King L
Boogie Band.
BRENDAN POWER
Brendan was inspired to take up the harmonica after hearing a concert by the
legendary Sonny Terry in his home country of New Zealand in 1976, and became a
total blues fanatic for the first few years of his
playing career. He later branched out into many other styles of music and, since arriving in the UK
from New Zealand in 1992, has made a name for himself as one of the country’s
top session harmonica players. Brendan has worked with such musicians as Sting, Mary Black,
Donal Lunny, Arty McGlynn, James Galway, and John Williams, released a string of innovative
instrumental albums, and recently completed three
years on the road with the Riverdance show.
However, he has always retained a love and affinity for playing
straight-ahead no nonsense blues, and finds the perfect outlet for that
expression in the partnership with Dave.
The duo's debut album is called Two Trains Running; it was released by respected British blues label Indigo Records in May 2000.
