This is a CD recorded by three adventurous
musicians who have strong folk roots but love to improvise and bring in
elements of other styles to create a unique and exciting synthesis. The
trio features
Tim,
joined by Brendan Power and Lucy
Randall.
Tim is a multi-instrumentalist, best known for his mind-blowing guitar and
box playing. He has played with many of the top names in the folk world,
including Frankie Gavin, Michael McGoldrick, Sharron Shannon and Seamus
Begley. He is a member of Scottish Supergroup Session A9 and also plays
with the Julie Fowlis band . A one-time member of Anam and Lunasa, he also
played on the sell-out tour of The Magic of the Dance. His music ranges
from from soulful airs to frantic jigs and reels, and his own compositions
run freely from his beloved Celtic music into the realms of free Jazz.
Lucy Randall is an astonishingly accomplished percussionist, which is
reflected in her work with The Michael McGoldrick Band, James O'Grady and
Alan Prosser, Colette O'Leary and many others. Her sensitivity of touch
provides the perfect rhythmic underpinning for Tim and Brendan's melodic
subtleties.
