HARMONICA
REPAIRS
All harmonicas eventually
need repairs and retuning.
If you are a very hard or wet player, reed or valve problems can occur within
minutes on the best of harmonicas.
Some players go through several harps in one gig! This can be very expensive, so treat your harp with care.
Especially don't bend notes to breaking point, and
let the harp dry out after playing.
If you follow these rules and keep the harmonica in its case when not in use,
it will last well even with heavy usage.
However, eventually adjustments will need to be made to tuning and setup, and
reeds/valves may need replacing.
You should learn to do this yourself as it is interesting and
empowering. Repair knowledge allows you
to set up your harps just as
you like them, and saves you
a lot of money, time and hassle.
However if you'd
rather not do it yourself, I do service the harmonicas I make, on an
hourly rate.
Contact me by email
in the first instance, and we'll take it from
there.
