There are a range of harp options for the POWERBENDER, from my rugged easy-playing own-brand model
to hand-tuned Suzuki and Hohner harps of your choice. (You can also order direct from Seydel (see below).

June 2011: The first shipment of Brendan's own-brand POWERBENDER harps arrives!

After extensive research into different manufacturing companies, I chose the same Chinese factory that makes the well-regarded Hohner Blues Bender harp to make my own-brand POWERBENDER. I tested and refined four stages of
samples over several months before giving my approval for manufacture, and I'm really pleased with the result.

Like the Chinese Hohner, my POWERBENDER harp has extra thick reedplates and side-vented coverplates.
It is tough, comfortable, bends easily, has nice rich bottom-end chords, full tone - and above all, it's affordable!

Right now it's only available in the key of A (the correct key to go with the Book/CD).
However, other popular keys will be added to the range in coming months - watch this space.

specially made to my specifications at the Suzuki HQ in Japan, using the respected Harpmaster model.
The Harpmaster is a responsive, sturdy, easy-playing harp, a long-term favourite of mine.

Introductory POWERBENDER Book/CD and Harp Package

If it's your first order I strongly recommend you get the Book/CD, as it goes into a lot of detail
about how to play the various positions and gives easy examples of tasty licks in each, plus
backing tracks in different keys/positions to play over (check out the text and music samples here).

Seydel, Hohner & Suzuki Options: Popular Models made into PowerBenders
Yes, you can have a PowerBender in your favourite harp, in any key!

SEYDEL Harps: Low Keys, Stainless Steel Reeds, Half-valving, Spare Reedplates

You can order a Seydel POWERBENDER with stainless steel reeds in Seydel's excellent Configurator system, in any key including Super Low models. The stainless steel models are the 1847 Silver, Seydel Noble, and the new Seydel Session Steel. Seydel has several harmonica models with brass reeds too.

Unlike the other harps on this page, you order your Seydel PowerBender direct from Seydel. Click the photo below to go to the Seydel site, simply choose the "POWERBENDER" preset as the "Initial Standard Tuning" and follow the steps. You can also choose extra features like Fine Tuning, Half Valving, and Spare Reedplates in the Seydel Configurator.
