Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp. It's Weird, but it Works!

The more I think about it the cooler this new idea seems. A bit off topic, but what are you doing in Turkey? Are you playing Turkish music? Any cool new designs or tunings? I bet you could do well with your all draw harp playing Ney style tunes. If you put a PaddyRast tuning in a SlipSlider you shou...

I am tempted ...
But I can resist,
that will change once the Manji or Easttop models become available.
Alternate tunings, This and the switch-harp allow us to tweak our sounds into whatever we want.

Thanks!
It sounds like an elegant solution to the spacing problem.

Re: NEW PRODUCT: The SlipSlider. A Revolutionary Blues Harp: It's Weird, but it Works!

I’m even more interested now.
Sorry for doubting earlier but it was April first....
The hole 7 thing, I assume it would not be needed for tunings unrelated to Richter?
Or is it needed to isolate the hole because of spacing issues with the slide mechanism?

Re: NEW PRODUCT: The SlipSlider. A Revolutionary Blues Harp: It's Weird, but it Works!

Hmmm.
I like the concept.
Some tunings with little bending ability could be made very expressive.
An orchestra bebop or a fourkey that could now have bends all the way up and down would be nice.
Still, I’m a bit leery about the execution.
Maybe it’s just today.

Re: Upcoming this Week: Two New Products

I owed him a big Favor for some assistance he gave to my son and I. I started with a Koch in G. The top plate I did in a Rast Makam. In the Paddy Richter pattern. The Bottom Plate was a Hicaz ( I think) in PR pattern. I embossed it lightly, and half valved it. I smoothed and tightened up the mouthpi...

Re: Upcoming this Week: Two New Products

No worries. Busy people are busy, and usually for good reason. Of course my head may explode if I have to wait to much longer to find out what new toys you have for us. I made a slide harmonica for a Turkish Saz player, it has one makaam on each reedplate so he can switch back and forth, but the not...

Re: Power Chromatic

Great news.
I like half valved Bebop and now it will be an easy retune.
A pair in a switch harp should be fun.

Re: Serendipity in Action: Inverted-Solo Tuning

This is pretty cool and tempting to try.
I would be tempted to bebop it.
It seems like it might be a fun way to retune a half-Valved Lucky 13.
A bebop D would give full scales in G and D and in a switch harp you could have fast decorations and loads of note choices.

Re: Paddy richter 10 hole slide

If not it’s not too bad of a retune on a Slide harp or a Koch chromatic.
I made myself one and like it. I modified the comb and made new covers,...
Or you can get one of Brendan’s Switch Harps and make one that way. Those are very cool.
