Re: Applications for Alan's "Modular Chord Harmonica"

The table below incorporates the "alternative note pattern" described in the post just above this one. It also specifies the lowest possible tunings for Big Sixes, according to Seydel's Configurator at this time. Of course, if one used these six chambers as merely the beginning of a 10-, 12- or 13-h...

Re: Applications for Alan's "Modular Chord Harmonica"

Here is an alternative note pattern for each layer of the chordal harps above: Hole 1: lower b7th Hole 2: tonic Hole 3: perfect fifth Hole 4: upper b7th Hole 5: octave of tonic Hole 6: octave of perfect fifth This pattern omits the thirds, and is therefore useful in both major and minor contexts. It...

Re: Some six-hole adaptations of "Wilde Rock" tuning

Any of the three Big Six tunings shown above might do well within Alan's "Modular Chord Harmonica".

Re: Applications for Alan's "Modular Chord Harmonica"

Some good candidates for the "melodic Big Six" (discussed above) can be seen here:

Applications for Alan's "Modular Chord Harmonica"

I am very excited about this: http://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=267 Around the idea of Alan's modular platform , I have devised some chordal Big Sixes which, in combination with some kind of melodic (e.g. blues scale) Big Six, would constitute a highly adaptable system. The diag...

Some six-hole adaptations of "Wilde Rock" tuning

Here are some of my own ideas on how to adapt "Wilde Rock" tuning, by Will Wilde , to a six-hole format. Below I show the original 10-hole version, and also three six-hole versions. All are based on the "song key" of G. http://www.brendan-power.com/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=404 http://www...

Re: A family of new modded-Richter tunings

Here is different example of the type of tuning described in the post just above. In this version we gain an additional IV chord (preceded by its dominant seventh note) in the blow layer, and also an additional V chord (preceded by its dominant seventh note) in the draw layer. http://www.brendan-pow...

Re: A family of new modded-Richter tunings

Throughout this thread, all of the I – IV – V tunings have shared this basic structure: IV chord(s) in the blow layer, and I chord(s) followed by V chords in the draw layer. But another arrangement also has merit: a V chord followed by IV chord(s) in the blow layer, and a I chord followed by another...

Re: A family of new modded-Richter tunings

Regarding the tuning of Fri Oct 26, 2018 12:40 pm (just above) ....

Here is how low it can be, according to Seydel's Configurator. This example would play in the "song key" of Low C.

Re: A family of new modded-Richter tunings

In my post of Wed Oct 24, 2018 12:08 pm (above), I indicated that I was very pleased with Super-Circular/PowerChromatic for general major and minor diatonic play. I then set out to devise a more specialized bluesy version of that tuning. I see now that some of what I did to that end was incorrect . ...
