Re: MODULAR-REED HARMONICA - Released!

Whew, lots of detailed points on the Modular-Reed Harmonica there Triona! Thanks for your observations. I'll try and address the points here: ADHESIVE GASKET It's only meant to have a light tack to stop reeds falling out when the harp is disassembled. Even if the adhesion gets less with multiple ree...

Re: Strategically Draw-Bending Slide Richter

Yes, thinking of a slide harmonica in this way offers a player lots of expressive options. If the slide-out scale is Richter (as in your example) and the slide-in scale is determined from the point of view of giving extra bends, it could be configured in many different ways. Having a Guiding Princip...

Re: MODULAR-REED HARMONICA - Released!

Hi Sachlaw, Thank for allowing us to use your review. Actually it's a custom XB40 in Paddy-Extended on that track. The bends wouldn't be possible with a normal 20 reed harp, including the Modular Reed. I'm currently working on various new X-Reed harp designs for my own use. If I find something good ...

Re: MODULAR-REED HARMONICA - Released!

Hi Rishio,

We have Paddy-Richter Extended. This is the same as ED Tuning but starts one hole to the right. I've used it for a long time, and recorded with it on some tracks of "New Chinese Harmonica". For example, Track 1:

Re: Battery powered multi effects units

I've been using the Korg Pandora PX5D for a long time, which is pretty much the same as the Mini. I like it!

Re: MODULAR-REED HARMONICA - Released!

Thanks Sachlaw! I'm really glad you like the Modular-Reed harp for its playability, as well as the obvious reed-swapping ability 🙂 May we post your review on our Feedback page? Edvin: yes, I do have plans for extending the modular reed concept to more sophisticated formats, such as a slider version....

Re: JOKER "superchromatic"

Edvin: Yes, but...!!! Overblows overschmoes... 🤬 I'd have the harp half-valved, so they don't apply to moi. Surely a slider version with displaced scales tickles your fancy? Think of all the EXTRA bends, overblows etc possible, in addition to the new slide enharmonics.... Hard to resist for a serial...

This sounds like a man trying to gracefully end a thread...

Sorry Phillipe, it's not so easy - we can keep discussing the minutiae of harmonica tunings till the cows come home... 😂

Re: JOKER "superchromatic"

Some nice things about your version Edvin - especially the bends and bend enharmonics. In part of the scale it also reduces jumps. However, they are bigger in other parts. Considering the C scale, look at the big gap between the G and the next C above: 5 holes The obvious solution is to have your tu...
