Easttop Melody Bass Harmonica - Layout Question

I've seen these pop up mostly on eBay. Does anyone have any insight why the notes are layed out this way?

Lucky 13 Paddy Richter and Tequila

Several years ago I was playing with a band with a saxophone player. The band called out the song Tequila which has a classic saxophone riff and he didn't know it! I muddled through on diatonic but it wasn't great. I just got my Lucky 13 Paddy Richter and discovered with these I can play those riffs...

Re: My modular chord harmonica

Assuming you stick with the pairs of power chords I put together you start one chord on the 1 and the other on the 5. So there are two options: 1 2 3 4 5 6 C G C G C G - blow E A E A E A - draw or 1 2 3 4 5 6 G C G C G C - blow A E A E A E - draw I prefer lower notes so I've chosen the lowest possib...

Re: My modular chord harmonica

I tried for a while to come up with a spiral tuning to allow me to play lots of chords. There are many different options on paper, but I found when I built one and tried it out I didn't like the way it sounded. To my ear, a harmonica chord sounds best when at least one note is repeated as an octave....

My modular chord harmonica

I finally got a 3d printer and was able to put this together. IMG_4913.jpg Without the harmonicas IMG_4914.jpg I have three big sixes in my BE GooD tuning so with those in place you have power chords in half the circle of fifths. F,C,G,D,A,E I put a regular big six in whatever key I want to play Ric...

Re: Harmonicas with Modular Reedplates

One interesting question for later is how do you sell this? Completely by the piece? Comb, cover plates, and then whatever reeds you want, or as a experimental kit with say three octaves of chromatic notes. Depending on what kind of tuning you're interested in trying, you might need duplicate notes ...

Re: The OVERBLOW BOOSTER - Overblows Made Easy, New OB Effects

I've enjoyed the overblow booster on an Easttop. Looking at the Asiabend, there are a couple of challenges. Like a chromatic harmonica, the blow and draw reeds are on the same side of the harmonica, meaning there would have to be an open and closed channel side by side. (thus a smaller target if you...

Re: Pentatonic harmonica

I've ordered two harps from Seydel over the years based on the pentatonic scale, but neither exactly like you suggested. Easy Third which was CEG DFA So had the extra 4 in C but allowed for several other (major and minor) pentatonic scales. The other was my Be Good tuning which is just 4 notes: GD B...
