Re: Chord Harmonicas

I’d like to know how you are progressing on the Suzuki SSCH-56. Oh, that's really a dark chapter of my GAS. When I tried it first at the Frankfurt International Music Fair 2016 I was really intrigued by it. Then it took 1 and 1/2 year till I eventually could purchase one. But then I found ou...

Re: Shifting a tuning to fit a certain range (i.e. that of a fiddle)

Hello Ken, don't mention it, anytime. It is just a pity that most of it concerning the 1577 Violin Scale and the comparison of it to the S-50 seems to have become obsolete now, or historical at least. :( (The notification on Tombo's Japanese website about the discontinuance must have been added with...

I wanted to post a reply here. I always get to see this: Forbidden You don't have permission to access this resource. Chord Harmonicas

Now I am having fun discovering the possibilites of the Hohner 48 Chord harmonica. Oh, I have one too since recently. Just not yet played very much on it. For learning I can recommend this tutorial in 16 lectures: Al Smith, Chord Solos for the 48 Chord Harmonica; 1989, Richfield Township, OH...

Re: Shifting a tuning to fit a certain range (i.e. that of a fiddle)

Triona, Is the Tombo No. 1577 out of production? The S50 still is available but not in the US. (Shipping available to the US, though.) I tried to look at the link you provided comparing the 1577 and S50 but besides being in German (!), the image was no longer available. Can you summarize the differ...

Re: Shifting a tuning to fit a certain range (i.e. that of a fiddle)

F natural in G is not there, that's a drawback. Possibly you could substitute one of the F# notes for an F, but that could be awkward. The best one would be lowering the draw F# in the G scale to F, and removing the inside valve. That would give you a blow bend down to F#, as well as the slide-in v...

Hi Edvin,

I just read this once again. I think now I have understood the idea behind your approach for the first time - at least a little bit. Sometimes it takes a little bit longer, befor the penny is dropping with me.

Re: Lucky 13 Powerchromatic, key D, plus some diatonics

Hi Triona, yes the tuning above is correct. ... except of the fact that the enantonics rather should be called C# instead of Db with the key of D. Will on you about the lucky 13 :D Is this a typo? Or is it an idiom I never have heard of before? Hi Triona, cover plates are chrome. Oh, v...
