Re-tuning EDHarmonica to a harmonic/melodic blues tool

Fourteen months ago I was experimenting with re-tunings of EDHarmonica -- which could arguably be called Regular/Repeating Paddy Richter . Today I extended that topic here: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=652#p3516 Then it occurred to me that that re-tuning -- shown again in ...

Re: How would YOU re-tune the Easttop EDharmonica?

This re-tuning might also qualify as a new tuning . So what results is a harp with a repeating A minor chord in the blow layer and a G minor chord in the draw layer. This Am/Gm combination gives us a G minor pentatonic blues scale with just one draw-bend required (the D to C#). It also gives us a G ...

Re: Tuning of harmonicaMD ?

Thanks to Edvin and Alan.

It does sound nice.

By the way, at one time Seydel told me that they could custom-tune this 5+5 harp "off menu" , i.e. it is not part of their Configurator.

Tuning of harmonicaMD ?

Do any of you know the exact tuning of Seydel's medicalMD harp? I find the chord diagram confusing. My best guess is:
Blow: E F A C D --- F D G B E
Draw: B C E G A --- C A D B F

Re: Bend-less scale diagrams for Solo and PowerChromatic Lucky 13 in four modes and three keys

Brendan –- Thank you for those kind words and considered ideas. When you say you prefer to “put the blow notes on the bottom of the grid, so the arrows or scale lines from hole to hole rise and fall according to pitch” –- I totally understand that “aural” rationale. However, the first harmonica book...

Readers may wish to compare the "stock" Lucky 13 scales above with those of some re-tunings shown here: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=792&p=3475#p3464 and here: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=791#p3463 and here: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/v...

Bend-less scale diagrams for Solo and PowerChromatic Lucky 13 in four modes and three keys

Nothing new here. Just some bend-less scale diagrams for Solo and PowerChromatic Lucky 13 harps in the keys of C, D and G and for the ionian, dorian, aeolian and mixolydian modes. I invite suggestions as to how to make these diagrams better. Please PM me. https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/download...

Re: Re-tuning a Solo Lucky 13 to Inverted Bebop

The tuning just above can also play the E dorian scale with a "normal" breath pattern, i.e. with a blow tonic. That re-tuning would be particularly useful starting with a PowerChromatic in C and ending up with a C ionian harp with an "inverted" breath pattern and also D dorian with a "normal" breath...
