Re: Installing powercomb on 260

Nice catch with the drill press.
I never had one for any of my woodwork projects for a long time, then scored a cheap one that just needed a little work to get operational. It’s amazing how useful they are. You may end up using it for more than you think.
Enjoy

Re: Installing powercomb on 260

M3 is 3mm I usually use 1.6mm or 2mm Rockin Ron has Taps for sale that can be added to a harmonica order, or purchased alone. I believe he ships them free in the US. The ratchet handle is nice for big stuff, but for small holes and harmonica brass I usually just use a pin vice type handle and go slo...

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

Will you be releasing a slip-slider for Hohners with regular breath direction?
Have you had any luck with Lucky 13 versions?
Although I haven’t really been able to play mine much(or any harp at all in the last couple months) I think it’s a great tool.

Re: Introduce yourself

Welcome!
This is definitely the place for harmonica loving tinkerers to hang out.
Paddy Richter is fun. So are many other systems.

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

I did E6000 pads for a grip. Not impressed. I thought the idea of the SlipSlider at first was amazing. My first experience using it, not so much. Ok now try this. The amazing came back. (Mine is PR) Practice a scale or 2 (boring right?, not now) C scale all the way up and back. Easy, no slide. Now p...

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

Nice!
Are regular breath direction combs going to be available for other makes too?
Seydel has the configurator. But other companies have reeds that are easier to modify.
Is there a Lucky 13 version in the works? Or are they too long to work properly?

You can’t go wrong with LEGO! Good idea.
E6000 stinks while curing, but a day or two in garage off-gassing makes it undetectable.

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

I finally put my SlipSlider together. This is fun. I haven’t done much with it yet, just noodled around, and haven’t decided yet how I’m going to do the grip modifications, if any. With Thunderbird covers it does pretty well, maybe just a small dab or two of clear E6000 glue on each side will do the...

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

What models do you think will be made for regular breath direction tunings first?
Also, even though only one shift is necessary to get the blow bends will they still be able to shift in both directions? There may be tone differences and deeper bends made possible.

Re: Pentatonic harmonica

Is overblow back up? It has been down for a while.
Pentabender and Fourkey are also pentatonic based tunings with maybe a bit more flexibility.
