Re: isomorphic harmonica?

It's also known as Wholetone Tuning, because each hole with slide out starts a whole tone above the previous one. Yes, lots of good points, notably: 1. Only four blow-draw patterns to play in all 12 keys 2. The scale is compressed, so you get more range for a given number of holes However it's more ...

Re: The SlipSlider Demystified

Yes, several plans are in place! They include designs in the works for a couple of new models where the outward form stays the same, and all the sliding happens inside the harp. They will be the Mk3 and Mk4 SlipSliders; quite a bit more tricky to make, and are some way down the road. But more immedi...

The SlipSlider Demystified

In my opinion, Zombor Kovacs' SlipSlider invention is the best thing to happen to the standard Richter harmonica in 125 years. Using graphics and playing demos, I show how it makes the harp easier to play and way more expressive than the old type, without losing any of its great qualities. https://y...

Re: TurboSlide (and SlipSlider?) dimi

Very interesting ideas as always Edvin! Talking of the Diminished harp with TurboSlide: funnily enough, I've been discussing this very recently with a guy called Jason Rogers. He plays diminished tuning exclusively, mostly on chromatic: https://youtu.be/d4SpfyGaQGI Jason also plays diminished diaton...

Re: The SlipSlider and TurboSlide Combined!

Thanks! Just putting together the great ideas of two other inventors, with a bit of development work on the SlipSlider from me. I think it's a powerful combination that would be wonderful to have in a harp anyone could buy. If widely available I'm sure it would engender a whole lot of fresh sounds f...

Re: SWAM Apps in the iPad: Amazing Realism

Unfortunately Android has too much latency for music apps, so anything decent has to use iOS. I have an Android phone myself, but use a second hand iPad Mini for music.

The SlipSlider and TurboSlide Combined!

Never before has so much soulful note-bending ability been packed into a standard 10-hole Richter harp!

SWAM Apps in the iPad: Amazing Realism

I've long been an admirer and advocate of the brilliant Lekholm DM48 Midi Harmonica. My preferred interface is the iPad, for it's user-friendly interface, small size, and low cost of using large numbers of excellent synth apps to play through. Recently things have got even better with that combinati...

Jim Antaki's TurboSlide Harmonica

Jim Antaki's excellent but under-appreciated TurboSlide Harmonica has so much to offer harp players! In this video, I show how it can transform the sound of your licks if you swap stiff, unresponsive blow notes for sexy draw bends instead.
