Re: Power Chromatic

If you're just trying to decide if learning the tuning is worth your time, you might try purchasing Brendan's exclusively power chromatic album such as "back to back" or "swingfellas" Listen to his playing and think about whether or not you can accomplish the same sounds with the tunings you were us...

Re: Power Chromatic

@Nick I find the doubled A or the 5th scale Tone, If You Are playing in second position (D major), to be very useful. For instance if I know I want to warble between the 5th and the 7th tone (A-C) all use the blow note because the 7th would be the adjacent 6 blow allowing for quick transition betwee...

Re: Tools for reed replacement

Brendans own brand harps (orange comb) are welded reeds. You will need a reed wrench, proper size drill bits, drill tap, replacement screws or self tapping screws. Either a drill press or pencil vise. AND of course, the right sized replacement reed. Here is a step by step Brendan video on suzuki wel...

Re: Power Chromatic in non-slider harps?

I think you make an excellent point! Perhaps the only thing that makes PC tuning more suitable with sliders are the bend enharmonics that are available. But other than that, I can't see why not use the tuning in a 10-hole harp.

Re: Power Chromatic

Perhaps I'm confused on what harp you're playing on the tune. Is it not a P.C. Bb scx-56 played in 2nd position-F?
Your trasitioning from the G to the A with a button push?

Re: Power Chromatic

Right! That's exactly my point in a way. On my power chromatics, when I push the slide in it raises the pitch a half step, so in essence I have a Bb(slide out) and B (slide in). BUT, your slide gives you a whole step, so are you using a power chromatic configired as slide diatonic(slide press giving...

It's right at 43 seconds into the tune.
