Re: THE OPTIMAL TUNING FOR ALL TYPES OF MUSIC? THE ADVANTAGES OF THE IONIAN MODE CIRCULAR TUNING
Welcome to the forum Dr. Kostas, and thanks for your interesting first post. The tuning that appeals the most to me of the ones you show is the first slider version, with the extra E and B major chords with slider pushed in. You say: "Curiously enough the scale that is produced by sliding the lever ...

Winslow Yerxa is an expert on this style, hopefully he can advise here. I'd be interested too - Winslow?

Re: Augmented Tuning
Yes, Eric Chafer is so talented! Great bass player (as I heard live), and trombone too, apparently! Quite a quirky character, I will try to find out what he's up to these days. Good to see Marcin carrying the torch for Augmented Tuning in fine style. He has several videos using it on YouTube - here ...

Augmented Tuning
This morning I was listening to Marcin Dyak playing in Augmented Tuning. He does it well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOKuwijLheY Marcin is a fine player, but his description of himself as the "Worldwide Pioneer of the Augmented Harmonica" is not correct. AFAIK that was France's Eric Chafer, a b...

Re: Chromaticising X-Reed Harmonicas
Thanks for your interest. Investigating options, hope to have a new model in early new year. Interesting developments in the Switch-Harp zone also, similar time frame.

Re: Chromaticising X-Reed Harmonicas
Zero blow reed gap is the best for the tightest, cleanest sound on the draw reeds. Having a positive gap on the blow reeds allows some air to come in through their slots when you draw, reducing the purity/intensity of the draw reed tone and making the sound a bit more 'breathy'. However, if the chro...

Re: Playing chords by pushing the slider half-way in! (Is this a thing?)
Hi Edvin - you wrote: " I've always found dimi chroms a bit awkward with a lot of quick button work, while the augy feels more relaxed by comparison." Try half-valving the Dimi. On a Dimi diatonic you can play all major and minor scales without a slider, just using bends, in only three positions: 1....

Re: Octatonic Tuning "1122" (Idea Kniri)
Thanks Kniri, looks interesting. By the way, you can input your tunings here in a way that comes out much better, so everything lines up nicely. Here are the instructions: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20 Here's how it looks with your1122 tuning: BLOW C D Gb Ab C D Gb Ab C ...
