Switch harp + Hands free?

I'd be interested in a Brendan Power switch diatonic harp designed for rack playing that uses Vern Smith's hand free design so rack players could play chromatically with their diatonics.

Re: When not to use a half-valved chromatic?

So Brendan, are you saying that if you had a chromatic that was optimized for half-valving you would always play half-valved? Even in solo tuning? Are there times when you feel like a fully valved chromatic is a better choice?

When not to use a half-valved chromatic?

I'm always asking the question "Which harmonica is going to create the best final effect?" So, when would a half-valved chromatic harmonica not be the best choice? (Or is it always the best choice?)

Re: OVERBLOWING - Where to From Here?

How about a valve that would open and/or close when the player used their overblow technique? The valve would automatically shut off the non overblow reed when an overblow was played or take you into another chamber with an overblow reed similar to Winslow's discreet comb. Where's Jim Antaki when yo...

A cupping back for easier chromatic cupping

Here's a test I've devised to determine whether this smaller back on a chromatic will affect volume and tone. To my ears its a subtle difference if any.

The Pogomatic Harmonica has arrived

I've got 19 ready to go. Here are the benefits: 1. An open cross-tuned slider. (I've done lots of A/B comparisons between slides with small holes and slides with larger holes. Larger holes enhance vibrations and harmonics. Smaller holes dampen them.) 2. Airtight mouthpiece slide assembly sealed by m...

You're playing on "Swing Fellas" with the Power Chromatic tuning is brilliant.

Paddy Richter Bend Tuning

This is my favorite tuning for my half-valved chromatic. I think it does a great job of splitting the difference between diatonic and chromatic. I can play blues and melodies. Holes 1-6 are regular Paddy Richter, but the notes for holes 3-6 are repeated in holes 7-10. Holes 11 &12 repeat the pattern...

Re: Rampless Chromatic Comb

Thanks for letting me know Brendan! If you have any suggestions for a catchy name let me know. I hope to have something to sell in the very near future. I'll keep you updated on my progress.
