Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
However, in my experience, it's harder to maintain good rhythm when you have a sequence of blow or draw notes all together. When it happens in an Irish tune for example, I have to concentrate much harder to maintain the groove than if the notes are in a blow/draw alternating sequence. I often need ...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Even if physically turning the slide is easy, trying to keep various configurations in mind while looking at something already different can be challenging. I know I struggle and need to focus to keep track of the sharp slide version, and I'm already pretty comfortable with my original! That was, w...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
I think if I used C minor scale i.e. Eb major, this must fit a little bit better or not? Many klezmer and balkan style tunes looks almost like Eb major. I did not yet thoroughly study all this stuff and maybe did not yet understand everything so far. But Cm / Eb is a key that certainly will be suit...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Question to anyone : Should I try to emphasise the sharp slide version more over the flat slide version? I use the flat slide, but I've started wondering if this might just add to the weirdness of the tuning and scare people of. Or is it so strange already that a flat slide doesn't matter? I do thi...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Thank you for sharing the charts and the large amount of informations. This is quite a lot. And it needs careful reading and thinking before any opinion is possible. Btw, it has been a good idea to share the sound samples first. They rise the motivation to try to dig this heavy stuff. :D dear greeti...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
My ears say "YES".
Now I can try to play this with a common chromatic or with a slide diatonic.
For to think about a new chrom in Wedin style or maybe even retune any other to this - if possible - a layout of the notes would be helpful.
dear greetings

Re: isomorphic harmonica?
Although Augmented/Wholetone is theoretically an excellent tuning in terms of pure logic, in practical playing terms it's a bit challenging. I don't know of anyone who's really done much significant playing on it. Aha, sort of nerd solution? I deduced it from your diminished diatonic. That's ...

Re: isomorphic harmonica?
Do we talk about something like this, concerning a slide chrom? https://up.picr.de/41320061la.jpg The first one would be 3 octaves with 4 notes doubled, 1 in blow and 1 in draw each. The second one would be 4 octaves with each note only once. I did not yet think about possible chords and neither abo...
