@ Sachlaw: Good to hear you're adopting an alternative approach, and you describe the advantages well. The reversed slide is used a lot in India and also by Irish musicians.

Here is the great young Indian player Subhranill Sarkar playing reversed slide:

And here is my good friend, the brilliant Mick Kinsella on reversed-slide chrom with his wife Josephine Marsh playing a few jigs:

Perhaps I'm confused on what harp you're playing on the tune. Is it not a P.C. Bb scx-56 played in 2nd position-F?
Your trasitioning from the G to the A with a button push?

It had never occurred to me to do this before but seems like a very intriguing modification!
@ Paris.
If you like Diatonic then you might like something I am working with. I just flipped the plates. That way, when I am pushing the slide, I am always "Going Down," so to speak.

Couple of things this does for me so far:

1. I can use the throat bend and/or the button to bend down. This will let me play with the octaves, and I can play some embellishments that sound better to my ear than the other set up.

2. It give me a a chromatic bridge to a full step below (which means easy access to the b7th) any default hole pitch. So basically, every hole (back to front) is now a two hole draw in some way shape or form (a. no bend, bend, then a button push with bend, or b. no bend, button push no bend, then bend). In the other setup, the b7s for the keys to the left of your repeating note (ie on my G harp, the doubled note is E [GBDE/AC#EF#] so the b7s for GBD will take movement off the hole. Flipping the plates gives me G#CD#F/A#DFG. Now I am a push and bend away from the b7th for notes to the left.

This also helps me out quite a bit with muscle memory, as I know all bends or button pushes get me down.
Sachlaw, i'm interesting in your tuning but i can't realy understand how it works?

@Slava -
Sorry if I was not clear on it.

I wrote up some stuff on it last night, posted it, but on reflection this morning. I think i may have made errors, so I pulled it off. I will throw a comment back out soon.

@ Paris: Sorry for the slow reply. I'm using and F PowerChromatic and playing in F. The G is available as a draw or blow, so G to A is both draw notes.

Cool! I'm thinking of trying it out.
Are you going to find bookofra 777 review? I'm gonna do it too. There I can master my skills and be able to play for reak. I'm sure about this.

A could of weeks ago I retuned a G Pro master to 'G power chromatic' just as a taster rather than going the full hog on a SCX.
It's the lure of getting one harmonica that with a home key of G that I can bend and will also play in keys of D, Em, Am, A and C.
So far it's going good but I'm having trouble with the repeated 'A's on holes 4 draw and 5 blow. I know there's not going to be an easy solution to this
but for those of you that regularly play P/C what do you do with them?

After a while you'll find it useful to have the options.

When you're practicing a tune or lick, try both A notes. You'll find one of them will give a better flow/feel than the other. Choose it in that context. After some time you'll naturally go to that option when similar phrases occur.

I have been tempted to try PC but is unsure what benefits i can use with it compaired to what i already are using. I have used halfvalved powerbender since it came out. My goal with it was to be able to play all chromatic notes. That is achieved and i can play all 12 major scales but maybe i am are missing some point here. I am always curious to try things that are new to me. Only concern is if it ends in a drawer because it dont add something new to my playing.
