Using draw bends to get the sharps and flats on PowerChromatic makes playing in all 12 keys easier and smoother than on a standard chromatic. I show how in this video:

Here's a clip of me trying to play Brendan's awesome solos from hesitation blues with Andrew White. Transcribing these solos and working on playing them has really helped me get familiar with PC tuning and its fun!

A little rough around the edges but you guys get the idea!

Nice one! I just made up those solos on the spur of the moment, never thought anyone would transcribe and learn them - it's an honour that you've gone to all that effort, Nick! Now you just need your own Andrew White :)

Thanks! Love those solos! They lay over the chords so nicely I figured it was worth studying. I'll definitely have to bug my brother-in-law to do the guitar part.

I been playing a Seydel Saxony in the key of C for about a year. Still working on it but getting there. I’m very interested in the Power Chromatic but I’m wondering what key I should buy. What do you suggest since I’ve gotten comfortable with the C tuning? Other than the ability to bend will the Power Chromactic be a BIG departure from what I’m using now?

I think the default key is good, still easy to play in C. Not that big a change, but you need to be able to bend notes to get the benefits of it. That's quite different to the stock Solo tuned chrom.

I'm primarily a diatonic player so bending won't be an issue. So the default key is G? My gut tells me to stick with C since I'm comfortable with that.

It all depends on how you want to do the retune. With a stock C the two easiest option are:

G: CD/EF#/GA/AB
or
Bb: CD/EbF/GA/BbC
