I am tempted ...
But I can resist,
that will change once the Manji or Easttop models become available.
Alternate tunings, This and the switch-harp allow us to tweak our sounds into whatever we want.

MORE OVERBENDS, if you want them...

It just struck me that there is even more extra on the SlipSlider than I thought, for some who might want it. Those who play with overbends can continue using their hard-won technique when the harp is in the neutral position, but add to it with new bends AND new overblows/overdraws when the draw reedplate is shifted to right or left.

With the right shift, your high-octave overdraws can be reproduced in the middle octave. Shift the drawplate to the left and your middle octave overblows can be reproduced in the high octave.

That means you can use the same overbend licks in two octaves. I assume that could make some players very happy :-) For others, choosing to play more overblows and overdraws will seem like a weird kind of masochism ;-)

That's where the extra bends come in: they substitute for the overblows/overdraws so you can play the harp chromatically with bends alone if you prefer. No need to master overbends at all, whilst still retaining the traditional sound and form of the un-valved blues harp.

It's up to the player how they choose to use it; the SlipSlider can be all things to all people.

On the PowerBender you'd only need a right shift of the lower reedplate for extra bends, because it is a regular breath tuning.

Currently you can draw bend every hole 1-10, and that gives nearly full chromaticism. You can overblow every hole to achieve full chromaticism.

A SlipSlider version of PowerBender would give you blow bends on holes 2, 7, 9 & 10 to allow you to get full chromaticism with bending alone.

Only 1 blowbend missing...lol
This is the reason i like the idea with Slipslider...full chromaticism without the need of two harmonicas like switchharp, no tedious customizing, no Helmholtz resonance coupling, no need to use sticking valves. I only have to try it out and get used to the action before i can say this is my prefered harmonica solution. Still eager to have Unibender too because of other advantages (fast shift to other tunings etc.) But Brendans use of magnets this way is so far regardig me a better and more easier solution than Turboslide (even if i really like James F. Antakis inventions)

You make good points there Lizzy, hard to argue with them :-)

The more I think about it the cooler this new idea seems.
A bit off topic, but what are you doing in Turkey?
Are you playing Turkish music?
Any cool new designs or tunings?
I bet you could do well with your all draw harp playing Ney style tunes.
If you put a PaddyRast tuning in a SlipSlider you should be able to blow and draw bend every hole.
It’s getting harder to wait for the Easttops or Suzuki versions.

So if I order the kit, all I would need it compatible reedplates in my desired tuning and covers?

This is where Unibender comes in. Whatever tuning you put in you can blowbend or drawbend all holes. I can already do this with a halfvalved powerbender but with Unibender i can get rid of my sticky valves.

The Unibender is interesting too.
But this SlipSlider seems to have one advantage Brendan hasn’t even mentioned yet.
It can be opened for cleaning and adjusting immediately.
The Teflon should rinse clean instantly, and the reeds are exposed with no valves.
I really like my half valved harmonicas, all of them are half valved now, but my saliva is like superglue so I have to clean harmonicas often.
I may like this better than halfvalving.

I agree...and Unibender and Slipslider have different advantages. Thats the reason i want to try both. And i am also producing to much saliva. And when the valves begin to stick it get worse for each day.
