New and Unique TWIN-DIATONIC HARPS - Demo Videos

The idea of combining two 10-hole harps behind a single mouthpiece is not new, but it's not easy to get good reed response and has never been done convincingly before - until now.

After intensive R&D over the past couple of years, I've come up with a quick-change double-harp assembly that really works. I'm shortly releasing my ground-breaking Twin-Diatonic harps in a range of exciting options - check out the two videos to see and hear them all in action.

Nice!
I can't wait. I have some reed plates already so hopefully the mouthpiece assemblies will be available.
I know I'll want a Seydel minichrome. And a Suzuki x-reed. Maybe a Suzuki minichrome too.
Will the Suzuki models fit Easttop reed plates?

Easttop have a different reedplate screw arrangement, same pattern as Seydel but smaller combs.

The Easttop stock comb/plates should fit the front housing, but for added valving they need my custom PowerCombs - coming soon!

Ok,
I know I want a minichrome and have the Seydel reedplates I want to use in it.
I am also curious about the x-reed-unibender. Do I use one set of reedplates tuned and gapped normally and then set them off against a set of plates a semitone Or a full tone lower with the gaps flat? Or is there something else to think about?
Is there a video on the way explaining set-up options?
Thanks!
Eric

Hey Brendan. This is great, really cool.
I play octave harps for 90% of my main gig. Mainly auto-valves on your power combs. Do you think there is much difference in responsiveness between placing Harmonicas in-line, and stacking on top?
Also, can you give an idea of how long until these comb set-ups will be available for purchase?

Hey Brendan, have you played around with comb thickness for the stacked harps? Custom Combs might allow you to shrink the height, but I've not tested the sound differences or playability of comb thickness.

For lower notes thicker combs seem to be to prefer. At least Seydel started with thicker combs for their low and ultralow series.

I personally prefer thicker combs whith any type of harps. To me they give a better fit of the harp in the mouth when playing tongueblock, especially when playing rhythmic chords. But maybe this depends on personal likes.

And with the double decker harps it might be different too. The mouthpiece seems to be thicker at them anyway.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I will be posting detailed videos on assembly and harp/tuning options over the next two weeks. Keep the questions/suggestions coming, there are so many possibilities these twin-diatonics can fulfil :)
