slide-harp plus "diatonic" harp?

Anything apart from the two mainstream default harmonicas (Solo-tuned fully-valved chromatic, and un-valved Richter 10-hole diatonic). Alternate tunings, different construction, new functionality, interesting old designs, wishful-thinking... whatever!

slide-harp plus "diatonic" harp?

Post by IaNerd » Wed Jan 03, 2018 10:36 pm

Brendan-- Do you suppose that the hole-spacing of some "slide/chrom" harp is close enough to that of some "non-slide/diatonic" harp that the two could be joined into a Twin system? An example would be a chrom of any chrom-ish tuning wed to a circular-tuned diatonic, for all of its dyads, triads and 7th chords.

I suppose some hybrid could be made as you describe Pat, but it would be a lot of work to design. Hole spacings are not the same except for some odd diatonics like the Educator.

I own an Educator. It was an education in how to lose $60. Thanks for the reply. :)

Oh, I see now that you meant the Educator 1. I was unaware of that model. It looks like an Airstream trailer.
