Be Good Tuning

Here's a fun tuning I had Seydel make on their Big Six. Since it only has 4 reeds per octave, you can't go 10 holes before you run out of standard reeds. The same four notes repeated as shown below. I called it Be Good tuning, but if you chose a different key you might have change the name. :D

In second position you have the 1,3b,5,7b. It's really fun for noodling around and allows you to keep the same breath patterns for the same licks in 2 or possibly three octaves depending on the note choice. With normal bending you get the missing notes of the blues scale, all on the same hole so it requires more precise bending if there's a specific melody you are after. On the other hand you can slide from the 4 5b,5 at will.

In first position you get 1 3 5 6 which isn't quite as fun but still works for some basic noodling along.

Code: Select all

		1	2	3	4	5	6
	Blow	G	D	G	D	G	D
	Draw	B	E	B	E	B	E
