PowerBender/PowerDraw's "Backpack" ... for Twin-Harp system

Anything apart from the two mainstream default harmonicas (Solo-tuned fully-valved chromatic, and un-valved Richter 10-hole diatonic). Alternate tunings, different construction, new functionality, interesting old designs, wishful-thinking... whatever!

PowerBender/PowerDraw's "Backpack" ... for Twin-Harp system

Post by IaNerd » Wed Dec 20, 2017 7:19 pm

NAME: PowerBender/PowerDraw's "Backpack" (Gen. 2) ... for the B. Power Twin Harmonica System

BASIC CONCEPT:
Many players are tuning into the PowerBender and PowerDraw tunings by Brendan Power. This "Backpack" allows those users to retain the Power system(s) while extending chordal capabilities, especially in the blues-critical I, IV, V and vi chords.

WHEN/HOW: December of 2017. I have not had one made.

LAYOUT/DETAILS:
Slide-Out would be either PowerBender or PowerDraw. Slide-In would switch to the "Backpack".

Notes of the Blues Scale in G: G — A#/Bb — C — C#/Db — D — F — G

For reference, here are the Brendan Power tunings referred to above:

A big part of the "Richter magic" lies in the ability to chug-chug away on those lovely I and IV cords in the low octave, i.e. chambers 1-4. No wonder that this critical part of the original Richter tuning is retained in both PowerDraw and PowerBender.

Please note that in this "Backpack" tuning, those same chambers (1-4) allow for additional chugging on the V and vi chords.
