Re: Chromatic Harmonica for Indian Classical Raaga
Do you know about the Raga fantasy of Levy played on a richtertuned C diatonic? And give the asiaband from brendan a try for that? i think the real comiplicate part would be to emulate the sound from the resonating strings from a sita? http://www.levyland.com/outofthebox/RagaFantasy1-07.pdf http://w...

Re: OVERBLOWING - Where to From Here?
Another aspect for the sticking with normal richter tuned harps could also be the whiff of mystery which they still have (at least to peoble who know
just little about the harmonica) when someone plays chromatic or bluesy stuff.

Re: Unvalved chromatic or double diatonic
Yes i already looked at the thread and i'm really courius of the twin diatonics. Are going to create the system for seydelharmonicas too? With the superlows or a turboslide 1847 they could become even more intressting. With the turboslide they would be a little bit like a trumpet with those valve bu...

Re: Mind-instrument or Orientation on different harps
Do you think in skales or positions or at the exact tone names? Usually none of all this. I practice and play by ear. My "mind-instrument" is singing, if not directly the harmonica itself. dear greetings triona So you first sing it, decide which harmonica you use and then search the sung ...

Re: Mind-instrument or Orientation on different harps
Quite instressting, focusing on a few and practise. Ok thanks.
Anyone else? How do you manage switch harp und tunings? Do you think in skales or positions or at the exact tone names?

Mind-instrument or Orientation on different harps
Dear Brendan, besides my respect for all the different and intressting types of harmonicas and tunings you have created, i find it even more impressing how easy you seem to switch between the harmonicas and play great stuff with all of the them. In contrast to that i have even problems with switchin...

Unvalved chromatic or double diatonic
HI everyone, the discussion about halfvalved chromatic made me thinking about unvalved chromatic again. From the theory, it ist a nice idea to have one reed or each tone + the possibibility to use bendings and overblows instead the sildebutton, if this sound is wanted. But in praxis actually the blo...

Also half-valving makes speedplaying with mouth-breathing harder to controll.

Re: OVERBLOWING - Where to From Here?
One other reason to stick on the normal bluesharps might be the promise of simplicity. By promise of simplicity i mean the aspect Jason Ricci does here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uviF4siM3mY And this is basically the same message that i got out off Levy´s Out of the box. Just a harp twenty ree...

Re: Blues Harp Mouthpiece and Mini PitchBender for the DM48
Aktually it was not working well when i tried it yesterday. But i have most of the time problems with my musical software on this laptop, so i´m not sure how much of the problem is caused by my hardware and how much on the programm.
