Re: … these three options … -- 12-hole chromatic edition!

Sharooyer - I do not have prototypes of these for playing. And in any case, my medical condition now precludes serious play. From a theoretical standpoint, I am growing fond of OPTION D-12. In the first position, it features expressive draw-bends in the tonics, thirds, fifths and 7ths of the upper t...

Re: … these three options … -- 12-hole chromatic edition!

In OPTION D-12, the 8- and 12- draw notes can be draw-bent to either a minor or major 7th in the first position. Pretty cool!

Re: … these three options … -- 12-hole chromatic edition!

It has occurred to me that if OPTION A-12 (above) were in a flat-slide format, the "missing" B notes would be available as 7- and 10- draw with slide-in.

… these three options … -- 12-hole chromatic edition!

In this discussion https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4633#p4633 I invited your thoughts on three similar tunings. As of today the unanimous decision has been that OPTION A was the best . Notice how that was in the context of 10-holed tunings – though I had alluded to the possibilit...

Re: Please share your thoughts on these three options.

Thanks to the posters above for your kind and helpful comments. An old friend of mine has called me Master of the Obvious. Let's check that .... Something occurred to me recently and it might already be a well-known fact. Assume that you have a slide-harp tuned double-diatonic in the sense that the ...

Re: Chromatic for Irish-- there can be only one! (For me at least)

harp: As far as I can tell, you have married a D major scale layer in "Classical" tuning with a G major scale layer in "C6" tuning. Both of those tunings are well known, but to use both in this Slide Diatonic arrangement might be new. You can check for this on Pat Missin's websit...

Re: Spiral, then Dmin/Cmaj

Last night I attended the aforementioned monthly bluegrass circle. Someone called out a song in G minor, and it occurred to me that this was missing from my five-harp lineup above. And so I add a harp tuned in Bb major (see the green row below). As it happens, this brings out several other useful ke...
