Re: Melody Maker vs Paddy Richter
If you fully valve a melody maker, how would that affect the bending?

Re: Melody Maker vs Paddy Richter
I'm curious why you recommend only every other reed on the outside. Is it because of the frequency those notes are played or maybe they are or are not emphasized as much in Irish music?

Re: Melody Maker vs Paddy Richter
I have an E melody maker. I know that's not very useful for Irish. I have been able to play it to some extent. I practiced Scale Sequences & Melodic Patterns with it till I was blue in the face. I became quite proficient - at playing scales at least. I also have a Seydel orchestra s that I can g...

Can Irish music be played just as easily on a Melody Maker as it can on a Paddy Richter?

Re: Installing powercomb on 260
I got the holes drilled ok. The comb is installed, sort of. I don't have anything to sand them down flush. I tried adjusting them before tightening but it didn't do a lot. http://media.angelfire.lycos.com/preview/7723667/1024x1024-2492152.jpg I'll have to go intown tomorrow and get something to sand...

Re: Installing powercomb on 260
I don't understand why these nails are to be put back in - instead of screws. Why install any screws at all?
If I knew what size screws to get I could search for them on line.
now I need new valves cause I creased a few trying to get the broken spring out.

Re: Installing powercomb on 260
Where would I get screws if I wanted to replace them? Would I need the same size as came with the powercomb?

Re: Installing powercomb on 260
I have a packet of 5 screws that came with the powercomb. I was wondering what to do with the two nails on either end, (four total)

Buffers for 260
I thought I heard Brendan post something in one of his videos about making buffers. Does anyone remember seeing that? I got a 260, it's a little leaky and the slider keeps moving around once in a while, sometimes it leaks there. Anyway, I took the mouthpiece off and there is only one buffer in there...
