Pitch Bending amped harmonica with a handheld expression pedal
Coincidental Timing with Brendan's Midi Pitch Bender, I've been working on some handheld experiments for changing the pitch of amped harmonica: Here's a quick demo video: https://youtu.be/oQarDqO116U The most straightforward way to do this is to use something like a digitech whammy or other pitch sh...

Re: Please share your thoughts on these three options.
I really like option A. So much so I may have to try it out sometime!
It seems very versatile, especially in 1st and 12th positions.

Re: JDR Trochilus: A Look inside and its potential as a customizing platform
These sound great! I especially like the "Stairway to heaven " one you just did. I had started learning a couple solos on my retuned Trochilus tuning before I went and messed up my rib and threw my projects on hold for yhe time being. I had found, as you predicted, a couple things I want t...

Re: "Harmonica levers" - harmonica idea for irish trad players
Hey. I suffered a rib injury in August which unfortunately has not been healing properly and has kept me away from all sorts of activities, including harmonica. Three months later I still have no idea when I'll be able to take up music practice and physical activity again. My motivation to work on p...

Re: Half valved harp frustration
I don't know why it is, but I've found that valve bends on the smaller reeds (holes 6 and up) always sound nice and strong compared to holes 1 through 4.

Re: Discrete Comb, why not popular?
I made a version for the Seydel 1847, which I showed off here: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4324#p4324 In theory it does work well, you can overblow / overdraw every reed, single reed bend every reed, and do your normal dual reed bends as well. In practice, because the reed ch...

Re: INTEGRATED SLIDER-MOUTHPIECE - Tech Tuesday #7
Here is my attempt at an Integrated Mouthpiece Slider for the Trochilus Video : https://youtu.be/mYH1oYv01RQ?si=FqdCMRQlj5jeu17S Pros: -it shortens the width by a half inch -easy to install: it uses no new hardware, just replace the mouthiece and slide with the printed mouthpiece -I feel like I coul...

Re: INTEGRATED SLIDER-MOUTHPIECE - Tech Tuesday #7
I think an ideal version of this harp would be as close as possible to a traditional size harp. I have the same goal. I want a "Trochilus" that I can toss in my pocket, without the slider getting in the way, and without having to have a hard case in order to protect the slider. I started ...

Re: "Harmonica levers" - harmonica idea for irish trad players
I still think a customised chromatic harmonica is the best solution, and available right now. However, you said: Yeah, I was thinking about using slider for that. It's not ideal though cause sometimes I want to play harmonica in a holder with my concertina. There's a solution for that: Vern Smith's...
