Cleaning a TurboSlide harp?

I think the turboslide qualifies as an interesting alternative harmonica idea, but I have seen very little written about them save for the mere observation that they exist and Brendan's noting that they give deeper draw bends. I am awaiting a turboslide harmonica which should arrive any day now, but...

Re: Introduce yourself

I reread my introduction, and saw I put the digits of my birth year in the wrong order... I'm in my very late 20's, not my very early 20's :D

The rest of the post wouldn't make sense had I been born in '98...

Re: The OVERBLOW BOOSTER - Overblows Made Easy, New OB Effects

So I finally tried the OB! I started off buying the MB Delux model instead of the Crossover model, I don't know how I could confuse them! I went on a trip before it arrived, so I didn't notice until weeks after when I got home. I then spent a week looking for a MB Delux, and finally found one in D. ...

Is Helium a quick fix for Helmholtz resonance?

I see some people here who seem to struggle a lot with Helmholtz resonance, and I have been thinking some about this problem on and off for a while. Some time ago it struck me that the resonance frequency of the cavity would be significantly raised if one could add some helium to the air! The reed f...

Re: The OVERBLOW BOOSTER - Overblows Made Easy, New OB Effects

I just ordered one! I never thought of myself as much of an overblower, but there are those occasional notes in those occasional tunes where I wish that I would had put those hours of effort to actually learn. If this is all that it promises to be it will revolutionise my playing! Can't wait to try ...

Re: A family of new modded-Richter tunings

IaNerd: That would work too I guess. I still prefer my way though. My two reasons for choosing the bottom c is that with this choice it is easier to play melodies, and that it is very out of the way when you don't use it. You could play all the normal I-IV-V-stuff with nice big chords, and then add ...

Re: A family of new modded-Richter tunings

What would you think about lowering the lowest note on that country Big Six one half step? Blow: b e g c e g Hole: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Draw: d g b d f# a With this modification most of the harp will be the I, IV and V, but you could also include the lowest b to get the Em vi. All you need to play a four cho...

Re: Pentatonic harmonica

I kind of like the idea of a pentatonic spiral tuned harmonica! Many tunes are pentatonic, and why add more notes than you need? It would reduce the distance one has to move to get around the scale. Many stray notes deviating from the pentatonic scale could be bent, and the odd number spiral gives y...

Is there a public calendar for Brendan Power?

To Brendan: (or anybody else who might know) Many artists keep a calender on their web page so that people can see where they are have gigs and when. Is this something you have considered? Or is there one which I have missed? There are several reasons not to have such a thing, so I understand if you...

Re: Introduce yourself

I just joined and thought I'd introduce myself: The name is Edvin Wedin and I started to seriously play the harmonica around 2011/2012 (I was born in '89). Before this, I had mainly been playing various woodwind instruments, like flutes and ocarinas, but some other instruments as well. I have a pass...
