Re: Shifting a tuning to fit a certain range (i.e. that of a fiddle)

Tusen tack för länkarna. Jag älsker så mycket de gamla spelmans låtar. :D Maybe you should try the TOMBO 1577. It is also called "Violin Scale - Band Chromatic". Here is the layout: https://up.picr.de/35113296xs.jpg It is a slideless chromatic in the keys of C and C#. The range is from G3 to C#7. Th...

Re: Pentatonic tunings

Then get along with the Fourkey, at least for the next time. If the example of your 2 recordings are representative for your playing, it proves that you sound better on the Fourkey, at least to my ears. Do not listen to what other people say and what they prefer. Play that tuning which is fitting be...

Re: Pentatonic tunings

Now I have found the second video too - this one with the Eb-fourkey and the C-Pentabender in comparison. Maybe I did some wrong clicks yesterday , or there was any temporary malfunction in the line. To my opinion the first try with the Eb-Fourkey sounded more fluently to my ears. On the secon...

Re: Pentatonic tunings

Can it be that you have mixed up something with your links? I can see only 1 video with the orange configurated Seydel harp alone. (I could not hear, if it was the Eb-fourkey or the C-pentabender.) The other harp is missing. And both links lead to the same video. And the video with your friend on th...

And if it should not work with the harmonica like expected, it can be used eventually for painting the nails anyway.

Re: New Tool and Method for Improving Harmonica Reed Response

My first thought after I had heard your first words to describe the issue: To lower the base of each reed by engraving a little notch into the reedplate under each reed to countersink it to the surface of the reedplate. But this were not less work and hazzle than bending and reshaping each reed. An ...

Re: PowerBender Versus EdHarmonica

FYI, if anyone wants to try ED without messing with tuning, amazon sells them for $30 which is a pretty good deal for the buck (designed by easttop - search edharmonica). I prefer buying reedplates from Seydel. I recommend this too. :) And if I want to save money with just trying any new tuning, I ...

Re: Comb of Fanfare S question

All the tremolos I know have these horizontal dividers - and all octave harps I know as well. I guess Eric explained the reasons for this very well. And this has already been like this long before the chromatic harps even had been invented.
