Re: Harmonicas with Modular Reedplates

A serious harp player who is not totally focused on a single genre should see the sense in owning at least one modular instrument. Just imagine going to a gig, knowing that in your bag sits precisely the harp that you need for every song! But you should be aware, that just this application usually ...

Re: EDharmonica, by Seydel

I guess, the capability and ability to learn and do all kinds of bends, overbends and overblows etc depends to some degree on the player's specific anatomy of the mouth, tongue, teeths and throat. This might cause that the one or the other has more or less difficulties to learn the one or the other ...

Re: urgently searched sparepart

I have ordered one for #5140. If anyone else should be in need of spare parts for HERING harmonicas, ask here: https://www.acoustic-music-store.de/ They have some rests of several parts for several models on stock. If the last one is sold out, they are finished. No new ones any more. @ Robert: Thank...

Re: urgently searched sparepart

Re: urgently searched sparepart

When will Brendan be back again?
Or is here anyone else who is knowing and can tell, if standard chrom Hering 5140 has the same construction and dimensions as Brendan's Slide Diatonic Hering 6040?

Re: urgently searched sparepart

Thanx. Looks quite similar, and is still available. But most probably it needs some tweaking to fit it to the harmonica. And this material is really "tweak-resistant". Does anyone here know, whether the Hering 5140 is identical with the Slide Diatonic concerning basic construction, form and dimensio...

urgently searched sparepart

Hi Brendan, by accident the slider of one of my slide diatonics has been bent unhappily very sharp:  https://up.picr.de/33953662bq.jpg https://up.picr.de/33953664de.jpg https://up.picr.de/33953665ib.jpg Of course - what I feared at once - it happened, as I cautiously tried to align it again: ...

Re: Any news?

Looks like all blow reeds on both sides? I think I have seen something once before. It is even not very long ago. But I cannot remember where at the moment. At least there is no serial production or has been at any time. I had been thinking some times that this maybe could be a good idea. For the ma...

Re: Pentatonic tunings

Out of interest: If you want all chromatic notes without bends, why not play a chromatic harmonica? The motivation for pentatonic tunings was to be able to play all chromatic notes with bends, but without overblowing. And the point of the discussion above is that we can have this in a little harmon...

Re: Diagrams of well-known tunings

On my Seydel 1847 it is B.

Following the "definition" of "Do-it" as I know it, this is correct:
Draw 2 and Draw 3 one wholetone lower each than Standard Richter, all the rest the same as Richter.
