Re: Twelve-hole slide harp with 3 PowerChromatic octaves, 14 chords, and easy diatonic and octaves play

In another (related) topic, Brendan pointed out that the chords to the right side of this harp are too high in pitch to be very useful. I believe I have solved this problem. Part of the solution is his suggestion to use side-by-side Big Sixes, so that the "chord layer" doesn't become too high in pit...

Re: Twelve-hole slide harp with three chromatic octaves and 18 different chords

I think I have solved the problem that Brendan has pointed out. Part of the solution is his suggestion to use side-by-side Big Sixes, so that the "chord layer" doesn't become too high in pitch towards the right end of the harp. And so I offer this:

Slide for "tongue block" effect?

A less-than-half-baked idea:

Instead of a push-button slide mechanism shifting airflow to a different set of reed plates, could the slide instead duplicate particularly difficult tongue-blocks on an otherwise standard (i.e. non-double-reed) harmonica?

Table of reedplate dimensions?

Can anyone share a table showing, for various makers (e.g. Hohner, Suzuki, LO, Seydel) and notable models (e.g. Manji, MB, Big Six) with each model's reed plate dimensions (e.g. plate L, W, o.c. reed slot pacings, reed slot widths)?

Re: Fully chromatic tuning for slideless 10-hole “diatonic” harp (or “Black Badge” tuning)

As for my "Disclaimer/Disclosure" (above), my suspicion has been validated. On the Slidemeister forum, Gary Lehmann pointed out that "Black Badge" is identical to, and preceded by, PentaBender tuning by Roger Myerson . I thank Gary for the correction and congratulate Roger for "getting there" first.

Re: "Big Six Blues Solo Buddy" or "Drei Blaue Tonleiteren"

The final four chambers (i.e. 3-6) of the "Solo Buddy" tuning above has become part of larger, more chord-enabled tunings that I call "mullet" tunings. On this Forum, see "Blues Mullet" tuning for 10-hole harp and also "Blues Mullet" tuning for 12-hole harp.

“Blues Mullet" tuning for 12-hole harp

NAME: “Blues Mullet" tuning for 12-hole harp BASIC CONCEPT: This tuning is an extension of my earlier “Blues Mullet" tuning for 10-hole harp , which itself was a fusion of two of my earlier tunings. The first eight chambers are an extension of my "Scale and Skinny/Fat Chords” Blues Buddy tuning for...
