Re: IRISH HARMONICA LOCKDOWN DUET - Tijn Berends & Brendan Power
Nice video! It's inspiring to see people working around the limitations :) Another technical question: What about the slide-in tuning for holes 1 and 2? If they're mainly used for chord playing, I would guess you do something like keeping 1 blow left unaffected by the slider, giving the slide-in tun...

Re: Guilhem Desq
That's a nice video, but we can't talk about modern and innovative hurdy-gurdy playing without a mention of Johannes Geworkian Hellman, who at least for me pushes what I'd had thought the instrument could do quite a bit. As it happens, the duo Symbio, with him and accordion player LarsErik Öjeberget...

Re: Lucky 13 Power Chromatic key of D
There's also another option that might be interesting: Buy the G harp and retune all the C's to C#'s! I have a harp in this tunig myself, and it's very nice! It would ruin it for playing in G, but for playing in D (and also A) you get the best of both worlds. The chords on this tuning are nicer than...

Re: Lucky 13 Power Chromatic key of D
Follow up question: my intention is to uise this to play mainly Quebecois tunes mainly in key of D. I’m assuming key of D is the one to choose, right? Thanks. Ken Not necessarily. Depending on how you feel about bending and what you want in terms of chords, the one in G might be better. Take a look...

Re: Seydel Symphony 48 now available as configurable!
.. why on earth anybody would want to do that ;) To play comfortably in keys like Db, Ab ... without constantly keeping the slide pushed. 8-) dear greetings triona Ah, I was unclear! Wanting to change the slider seems perfectly reasonable, I was just questioning doing it back and forth between song...

Re: Seydel Symphony 48 now available as configurable!
Quick update:
Turning the slider upside down is really easy! I just timed myself, and even though I was fumbling quite a bit I still managed to do it in just under 30 seconds. With some practice I'm sure you could do it between songs at a gig, why on earth anybody would want to do that

Re: Seydel Symphony 48 now available as configurable!
I got my Symphony 48 in the mail last week, and I really like it! I've been travelling most of the time since, so a more thorough review will have to wait a bit, but some things I can say right away. The slider is super smooth with very little friction. The delight of the novelty might make me biase...

Re: QUESTION: Is diatonic solo tuned harmonica with recessed reedplates and 12 holes produced?
By the way, I "get" the desire for a lipped comb, a.k.a. recessed reed plate I second that! I have a few "sandwich style" harps, but I much prefer the recessed ones. (Hmm... Does this have anything to do with me being a pucker player? Does pucker/tounge blocking agree differently with the two main ...

Re: Quick Q: What is Dm over Em?
In your illustration of an Dm over Em harp, you have highlighted the Em blues scale. It might be worth noting that there is also a Bm blues scale, and if you overblow hole 3 there is even an Am blues scale. From your previous posts I think I've gathered that blues player like to play the same things...
