Re: The MiniChrom / SwitchHarp is Released
Excited to have my Melody Maker Switch Harp in hand for the first time! The sound is excellent. The mechanism will take some getting used to. Specifically, the slider movement is not like a chromatic because instead of having the slider move while everything else stays static, on the Switch Harp the...

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
Today I received my "MIDIPLUS MiniEngine USB" from Amazon. It's a little larger than a cigarette pack and runs on a USB rechargeable battery. It is completely "Plug & Play" with the DM-48 with no perceivable latency. It does not require a computer. You just plug into the headphone jack with year ear...

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
Now that some of us have had our DM-48's for a few weeks, I'd be interested in hearing your settings - what have you settled on for "Sensitivity" "Trigger" "Bend Sensivity", etc. and all those other settings? Or are you just using the defaults?

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
By the way, after playing the DM-48 for a week, I'm already wishing it had one more button (in the back of the harp perhaps) that is simply a register key or octave key. The button on the top is great but it can only have one function at a time. With some of the more limited range tuning I use, it w...

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
Alright guys here is my very first video using the DM-48! As an added bonus I'm also playing StreetLegal's "Spiral 5ths" tuning! This is recorded on a Windows 10 PC that is simultaneously running REASON with the Electro Acoustic Voices for wind synth. The particular voice I'm using is called "Thin L...

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
Making real progress in taming this beast. It really helps to set things up for "Multi-Channel" midi, the more the better. "Solo Assist" isn't even necessary if each hole has its own channel. Now I'm just trying to find the best "patches" for it. The "Choir" patch in Acoustic Electro Waves sounds ki...

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
After fooling around with "Solo Assist", "Response", "Sensitivity" and "Triggering" I'm getting closer to a more natural harmonica feel. Helps to read the manual. :>

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
So I tried setting up the DM48 with Presonus Studio One 3. Got it to register and it even shows it receiving midi controller information, but I can't get it to make any sound through any of the software synths plug-ins. My own inexperience at play here, but if anyone has an ideas, I'm all ears.

Re: Midi harmonica dm48
Ok, I have my DM-48 in hand and working! I set it up on my Windows PC using the recommended settings with Reason (demo) and Acoustic Electric Waves plug in. My first impressions. Its well built, feels solid and not much different from a "real" chromatic in hand! That's good! But so far, the thing is...
