Re: "Harmonica levers" - harmonica idea for irish trad players

Unfortunately Seydel has discontinued this model. And I do not know whether they have some of the parts over. I missed it too when it had been for sale some years ago.

Re: X-HARPS : Personal Experimental Harmonica Project

Hi Brendan, sounds quite jazzy. Seems like you have created now the "egg-laying-wool-milk-sow". 8-) (This is a word-by-word translation of an old German idiom, thus meaning something like "Jack in all trades device" or "allrounder" as the dictionary gives me as valid but a little bit too dry transla...

Re: Review of Three New Chinese Chromatics

Thanks for the info.
I hoped it would be not like this. The modularity of the model's idea with easy change of the reedplates and comb unit would be more versatile then. But it is like it is. They copied the down side of the model as well.

Re: Review of Three New Chinese Chromatics

Does the Kongsheng have the zig-zag layout like the Hohner CX-12, or does it have a straight layout like Hohner 270 or Seydel Deluxe and Saxony?

Re: Fiddle tunes on the Hohner CXB-10/40 by Brendan

Thanks. Looks interesting. I must research, if Hohner 270 parts could do this as well. Because the problem is, that Hering harmonicas are very difficult to get since Hering ceased to exist some years ago. And spare parts for Hering even are nearly unavailable any more. And above and beyond this: The...

Thank you. Take your time. At the moment I try to recover from months of hard work under bad health conditions. I rather can sit in front of the screen and write posts than do any sophisticated work, not to talk about hard work.

Have nice and contemplative holidays,

Re: Fiddle tunes on the Hohner CXB-10/40 by Brendan

The CX12 housing can be converted to straight-tuning (as used in Hohner 270, Seydel Sampler etc) with a bit of work. I've got a couple of such CX12 converted housings which you can drop a Hering or 270 comb/reedplate unit into and play This is a thing that I am interested in very much! What kind of...

Re: OVERBLOW-BOOSTER MK2 - Special 20 Version

This seems to me quite more stable in construction and more safe and effective in use than the first version with the plastic parts for sealing and the lever to push. It seems to me to be a very fine and sophistic mechanical work that self-evidently has its price. It is just that I have disco...
