I have retuned the L13 to solo a couple of times, using a C and retuning to start on E3.
Just ordered an A to tune to harmonic minor in A, customer wants the first 10 holes to be "like normal" LOL, that's going to be easy (!), only a dozen reeds to lower.
The reed material is very hard, certainly a lot of filing to remove, but solder works pretty well for lowering.

What is Paddy Richter tuning and/or double Paddy Richter tuning? Thanks. New to alternative tunings.

I believe the Paddy Richter is an alternate tuning system/ scale devised by Brendan Power for playing Irish style music. For Lucky 13 the scale would repeat I'm not sure which hole it correlates to but the scale pivots from the 3 blow. Irish music is deceptively difficult to play, the rhythms have a certain jig that makes it challenging to buy into a song while on paper it appears simple. I think you either get it or you don't and since my heritage is Scotland maybe I fit in the appreciation category but I love to have one in back pocket for an Irish Pub jam reckon it'd be all the difference.

Thanks. Turns out it is all explained on Brendan's website. I guess I should have gone there first. :D

The double paddy harps sound fun, I would like a G.
A harmonic minor would be great too!
I recently "paddified" a regular harmonic minor harp and am having a blast noodling around on it.

For double Paddy conversions my two bits would be that it's maybe easier and less accident prone to have replacement reeds for the Paddy notes already 2 semi tones up for the 3 and 6 blows, and install them.

Particularly with the lower reed , it's a lot of filing to get to the paddy note(s). The flip side is that reed replacement requires dealing with the welded reeds, removing them, and creating a new combo of a tapped reed plate screw hole, and the new reed needs a clearance hole for a screw, or screw / nut combo.

For more food for thought, I wonder if there is any interest in a Lucky 13 Powerbender tuning?

This is why I consider the welded reeds as a major disadvantage, concerning not only reed change. Realignment of reeds is very elaborate as well, if necessary. Drill out the welding point, replace it by a screw, what includes to cut a thread with the dimension of M 1,6 or comparable. Not that I would not have tap tools in that dimension. But I know from experience, how fuzzy it is to cut a clean thread in these tiny dimensions. In comparison the riveteted reeds just can be turned in line simply and fast.

Seems to be a problem that is immanent to harmonicas manufactured by EastTop (and Suzuki as well). There occured to me some harmonicas from EastTop where realignment of single reeds was necessary out of the box. (They were not from Brendan. Though I didn't find any from Suzuki where this would have been necessary up till now. But if it should be necessary, the problem is alike.) Therefore I suggest, Brendan should have a close eye on this problem.

Just my 2 cents to this question.
