Thanks for your answer, Brendan. Lucky for me I can read notation so the key of the harp (in this case A with the PowerBender instructional book) is not an issue. I’m beginning to learn how to use tab. I learn a lot of tunes by ear which seems to lock them more permanently into my brain. Music notation reinforces what I’ve learned by ear. Tab gives me a good map of where the notes are. Still, a lot of it is trial-and-error.

But be aware that there is no consistent and generally valid system how to write tabs. Anyone who does might do it in his own way, and without a definition of the used glyphes, it might be doubtful what there is meant. But anyway, with your knowledge of notes and your ability to use your ears you have an efficient control how to interprete any tab.
