I have one of the early Lucky 13s with the silvery-colored, unpainted metal covers (a gift from BVrendan - thanks!). I assume it's stainless steel or maybe something plated with nickel or chrome.
I also have several of the early black ones. Today I got curious and stripped off the paint, and was surprised to see something that looks like brass - or is it anodized aluminum?
I used a blowtorch on stainless covers to turn them all sorts of blue, purple and amber colors. Now I'm wondering if it's safe to torch these covers without melting them.
Anyeon know what they're made of beneath the black and gold paint?

Re: Metal used for Lucky 13 covers
Hi Winslow, all the Lucky 13 covers are brass - coated with chrome or lacquer.

Thanks, Brendan. At least I know they won't melt. But will be my first time flaming uncoated brass.
