Which one did you pull the trigger on? G or D.
I am about to order another to tune it to C. I hope these continue to catch on. An Ab (if they ever make other keys) is on my Christmas list for sure.

I just got my Lucky 13 in G power chrom. It suits me well.

Thanks for making the video, Ed - good to hear you getting around chromatically on that thing :-)

Re. requests for an Ab PowerChromatic: for now the official versions are just D and G until we see how demand develops. However, for those who want them, the regular harps can be easily retuned to other keys or related tunings (eg. Diminished or Bebop).

For USA players who prefer not to to the work themselves, I have a couple of Lucky 13 Recommended Customisers who can do the retuning quickly and for a reasonable cost: Burke Trieschmann and Gary Lehmann. You can find their contacts here:

The PowerChromatic tuning was a nice surprise to me. After have played with it a few hours with a couple of different scales it now flows very easy when improvising. Only one semitone bend on each hole also simplifies it. I have only played with Seydel soloist pro 12 for now (embossed and now valved) but are also waiting to test Lucky 13 in D and G. Did you get you PC in the key of C?

I tuned my G to C weekend before last, as I wanted to play to take licks I casually play on a all C powerbender octaves and dupe them to the PC pattern. It has proven to be a great way to learn the way around the PC.

Yes Sachlaw, i have Soloist pro 12 in C. I have often C as a orientation point because of my weak theory mind...lol
And i now also frequently compare it with my powerbender tuning and tranfer my solos and scales to powerchromatic. However, i have not looked at Lucky 13 yet to compare it with Soloist pro regarding blow/draw pattern.

OOTB the LKY13PC is going to start with the one hole blow in the stamped key.

On the Lucky 13, if you take the G major (PC) and lower the E, F#, G, and A to D, E, F, and G, you will have a C tuned with your C on the 3 blow. The harp itself starts on 1 blow with F. For the purposes of playing G Mixolydian, 2nd position stuff, etc, it is great, as you have three tonic draws in G, which make for nice fat octaves. When I sit in with people, they call G as a key quite often, and most of my accompianment is taking advantage of the G Mixolydian mode and/or G blues scale. It seems to work well with thier Country/Texas music style.

In terms of blow pattern on the above-referenced setup in C, if you start from the one hole, the pattern is F Lydian. In practice your ear will pick up where you need to be if you are jumping between one that is OOTB tuned for PC and one you have retuned in a different key, but still in PC.

A good tip and i have no problem to use soldering...thanks! :) I have not yet decided what i want to do with my Lucky 13 in G. Are still waiting for them to arrive. My Lucky 13 in D have just arrived but i prefer it higher. The two first holes are hardly bendable and i like to use all bends.
With PC i have again gained my missing octaves since i started to play with PB. But right now i feel that i have the best of two worlds with both PC and PB.
