Hi Karl, All brands of 10-hole harmonica except Seydel have a spacing of about 7.5mm between holes and reeds. That means you could mix and match my valves between brands, with a bit of trimming

However their reed lengths differ, so I took the time to make subtle adjustments appropriate to Hohner and Suzuki. But if you pay attention you can mix them up for sure :-)

I would like to buy several valve kits for my Hohner SP20's. Are the Hohner 10-hole the best fit? Seems like a stupid question, but I want to be sure before I order, so I don't waste my money...

Side-questions:

Which kit would have the longest valves among the 10-hole valve kits: Hohner or Suzuki?

Would that kit match any standard 10-hole harp, with a bit of trimming?

Cheers, Karl

Yes, the S20 reed layout is identical to the Marine Band, Crossover etc

BTW, my previous reply that you can mix and match my Stealth-Valves across various brands is not strictly correct. That's because the angle of the reeds from longest to shortest varies. That's where the sets of valves differ, so best to buy the set that applies to the brand of harp you have.

Thanks for your info, Brendan.

Now I wonder: which valve kit would be optimal for other popular 10-hole diatonics?

Especially the Easttop models of T008S and T008K are of interest for me.

I'm asking because I just ordered some for trying out and comparison.

Cheers, Karl

Hi Brendan,

Just wondering when your stealth-valve kits, especially for the Easttop 10 hole, will be up for sale again?

Cheers,
Karl

Anyone tried these?
https://www.deesfti.com/self-adhesive-w ... 7f89823845

Compressed felt/Mylar backed self adhesive windsaver valve for chromatic and diatonic harmonicas. Peel and stick! So simple, no glue required. Stays put! Will not absorb moisture! Will not jam up, will not flutter or slap. They are silent! Eliminates problems with windsavers sticking in cold weather! Price is for 1 windsaver valve. Rivet hole can be added upon request. These are precision cut and must be trimmed to the proper length after assembly. Video coming soon! Free shipping! Guaranteed to surpass your expectations!

Rather expensive but worth a try.
Will also try new windsavers from Brendan when they launch.
