1. The duty free limit of € 150 per each shipment will be abandoned. Each parcel will be charged by presumably about 15%. This is from the first € of value. This is also concerning importations from the UK.
2. Presumably by November 2026 a "Handling Fee" of about 5 € for each parcel will come on top of this.
3. VAT will be charged further on like it has been up till now. (For Germany this is 19%. Some countries charge less, the most even more, up to 25%.) New is, that this will be conrolled more efficiently, and will be charged fully on small parcels too.
This has consequences for the selling and shipment of harmonicas, parts, supplies and equipment too, even for CDs, be it from the UK (e.g. Brendan's home made stuff) or from China (e.g. Easttop, Kongsheng, JDR), Japan (Suzuki, Tombo), Korea (Dabell) or US (e.g. Dr. Antaki, Jason Ricci, Greg Heuman etc) and other.
The new regulations are especially important for so called "dropshipers". That is for instance, when Brendan sells harmonicas which are directly shipped from Easttop or Kongsheng to the customer like it often had been in the last years.
All in all, we can expect a significant increase of costs for merchandise which is sold and shipped from the UK or e.g. China e.al. into the EC.
And I would recommend to Brendan to keep this in mind, when calculating the prices of harmonicas etc, and when organizing his online shop for customers within the EC.Here is some more information about this theme. Their aggressive sales policy and business conduct most likely seems to be the cause for this shit.
