A space for players interested in my specialist harmonicas, alternate tunings, instructional material, recordings etc to ask questions and share information, experiences, videos etc.
Hey fellow harp players! I thought it might be fun if there was a topic exclusively for sharing clips of any harp playing that you guys/gals are working on! As well as an explanation of the harp/tuning/key/tune info etc....after all the only thing more fun than retuning a harmonica is playing the finished product!
Perhaps no one will be interested but I hope to hear what you other muscicians are working on!
Here is a video of me playing "Kitchenaire" from the awesome album, "Lament for the 21st Century".
Here I play it on a Key of C, Hohner CX-12 that I put in Bb P.C. tuning. Im playing with the button in (mostly) so the home key of the tune is B major!
Brendan, I couldn't figure out what harp or tuning you are using on your album....doubtless it's much more expressive and soulful than my rendition here BUT at the very least, this video demonstrates the versatility of power chromatic tuning.
Glad I could help haha! Love that descending 5ths progression of dom7th chords in the middle there! Do you happen to remember what harp you used for the recording? Sounds to me like some sort of X Reed set up.
I posted this before but I thought I'd put it in the 'proper' thread.
Here's a clip of me trying to play Brendan's awesome solos from hesitation blues with Andrew White. Transcribing these solos and working on playing them has really helped me get familiar with PC tuning and its fun! A little rough around the edges but you guys get the idea!
I wish to submit a short italian song we arranged for three harmonicas, two are conventional chromatics and the other one is a slider bass that Brendan arranged for me using his twin system. Hope that you can have an idea of its potentiality.

@Paris (Thumbs up)
Great thread. It will definitely give us deeper understandings of these turnings.
Long time, no post! Alas, I thought I would share a recent recording I've been working on. It features PowerBender Tuning on a half-valved Suzuki Promaster in C. I am playing in, more or less, A minor throughout the tune with a sort of solo/outro at the end. Enjoy!
