LUCKY 13 NEWS

Post by Brendan »

I developed the Lucky 13 around 10 years ago with Easttop as the manufacturer, and initially it was sold exclusively on my website. I created a lot of info, videos etc there that explain what the 7 different tuning versions are all about.

After a few years we mutually decided it was better if Easttop took over sales and released it on the big platforms like AliExpress, Amazon, and eBay. Better for general exposure, but there was much less in-depth info available for people wondering what this bigger harp is all about.

Recently I suggested to Easttop a hybrid sales strategy that I think will give the best of both worlds, and has some advantages of its own. They agreed; we did the necessary prep work and it's now operational.

Expertly managed by my business partner David Ireland, we're now taking orders on my website again:
https://www.brendan-power.com/lucky13.php

However, the harps will be posted out by Easttop - either from one of their four international warehousees in USA, Europe, UK and Australia, or direct from the factory in China. The advantages of this arrangement are:

1. Stock is always available, because it's coming from the manufacturer! That means fast posting after an order is received.

2. We accept payment in three different currencies: US Dollars, Euros, and British Pounds. This will mean most customers can pay in a currency that suits them without losing on exchange rates.

3. Lucky 13 buyers from my website get the benefit of the wealth of information, tuning charts, playing and instructional videos there. Plus they will get their more technical questions answered by the inventor of the instrument 🙂

I'll be making regular short playing videos to highlight the positives of playing a longer diatonic harp. Here are a couple in PowerBender tuning, showing how easy it is to extend your Blues solos over the full 4 octave range.

Can you tell me more about the differences between the 7 tuning versions? I'm especially curious about the PowerBender tuning.

Hey there! Treated myself to all 12 keys for the powerbender Lucky 13. I also purchased a case for them from Easttop but man… I've sliced my fingers a couple of times because the padding is too tight and very difficult to pull the harps out. It's a (too)small case and you have to put them in vertically. So basically, it's fine if I'm hopping on a plane but absolutely useless on stage… Takes me 20 to 40 seconds to pull one of the suckers out if it's all the way in the foam slot.

I guess I could do some arts and crafts and try to figure out how to get them to fit better but I'm wondering if you have a recommendation for a good case for the Lucky 13 series that will hold all 12.

Thanks so much!

This one is good for 14 of them. If you want, you can place 4 Hohner Marinebands or Lee Oskars or Suzukis on the outer sides in addition. And it is not too expensive either:
