Comparison Lucky 13 to Seydel Solist Pro 12 Steel - Low Octave

I tried to compare the tunig / layout of the Lucky 13 to the Seydel Solist Pro 12 in low octave. Here is what I found out up till now:

yellow: core octave (i.e. the only full octave)
blue: low chords Standard Richter
green: extra low chords Standard Richter in low tuning as usual

I added the numbers of the notes which indicate the octave in english notation.

My question:
Is the Lucky 13 within the same range as the Seydel Solist Pro 12 Steel?
(Maybe Brendan can add the numbers as well for better comparison.)
If that is so, there would be only the notes of the 13th hole missing on the Seydel (marked in red on my display above.)
Or are there more differences concerning layout and range of the octaves?


I already have the Seydel Solist Pro 12 in LA, LC and LD. These are the only tunings which are available in low octave. I need harps in Eb, Ab and maybe Db anyway. These are on my wish list since quite a time. So I am considering to purchase maybe the one or the other Lucky 13 for a try.

Btw: Listening to some of the nice videos of the Lucky 13 contest this morning, I got out my Seydel Pro 12's again, which I had played very rarely all the years since I have them. I think I will play them more often now.

A big positive for the Lucky 13's is they cost less and come in all keys

Middle C is the C4 depicted on the layout sheet, and is Hole 1 on a regular C-harp and is also the C in the fourth hole (however it may be numbered) on both the Lucky 13 and the Solist Pro.

The Solist Pro is available on both solo tuning and in the same tuning as the Lucky 13, in two versions of C (Low+regular and regular+high), LowD+regular, RegularA+HighA.

The Lucky 13 is always low+regular in all keys.

And I figured out the layout of the LAb+Ab and the LEb+Eb as well.
If there are no typos left, they should be correct too.
If not, maybe anyone could correct me please.


This just for the sake of completeness:

The Solist Pro is available on both solo tuning and in the same tuning as the Lucky 13, in two versions of C (Low+regular and regular+high), LowD+regular, RegularA+HighA.

The first one is the layout of the A, how it is offered now by Seydel in their latest online shop as "low octave - A". I guess it is like you stated in your post. (The two ones in C they offer as "low octave - C" and "low octave - LC"". The solo tuned one is not subject to my considerations here.)

Mine is labelled "LA". It is out of a proto series when they started the Solist Pro some years ago. It is corresponding to the lower layout including the B5 and D6 on 11 and 12 draw (as shown in red). They must have dicontinued this tuning. It is not even to chose in the "configurated" version any more - the latter notes are not available any more. Quite confusing anyway. At least there is no coherent labelling throughout the series by Seydel.
But I don't mind about this any longer now. I have one tuned "real LA+A" and I like it.


I know, this might be appearing as an awful lot of bulky theory.
But if I cannot try out an instrument before I purchase it, I like to know in advance what there will come. (I could not find any layout sheets on Brendans online shop. Maybe I might have overlooked it.)

The Lucky 13 is always low+regular in all keys.

That is a big advantage of the Lucky 13.

I own a low Solist Pro 12, and it does buzz in channel 1 when played even moderately hard. So I had a Noble Classic configured similarly: no buzz and much louder and fuller in tone through all channels. I would switch from Solist Pros to Luckies as soon as the latter can be had in my own configurations.
